A SAFAVID TINNED COPPER BOWL with rounded sides and slightly everted rim, the exterior lightly and finely engraved with a broad band of flowering trees and foliage around a series of pictorial vignettes from well-known stories including Leyla visiting Majnun in the desert and Shirin watching Farhad chipping his way through the mountain, a band above of scrolling vine around elegant nastaliq invocations to the twelve Imams, contemporary owner's inscription cartouche on the underside giving the name 'Safi Quli b.
