A parcel-gilt and niello Tankard with illegible maker's marks, Moscow, 1869 Tapering cyllindrical, the partly ribbed body with a wide band of nielloed scroll and geometric decorations with four cartouches, two with a view of the Kremlin and St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow, two engraved with 'Y & T. K. 7 Mai 1872' and 'Y & E. P. Moscau', the scroll handle with nielloed scroll decoration surmounted with hinged cover, the latter with similar decoration with a cartouche containing a Russian adage, gilt interior, mark on base and inside cover 7 7/8in. (20cm.) high overall 1,201.8 gr.
