Album containing ninety-seven albumen prints, 4 x 5in. to 11½ x 8in., nine hand-tinted, eight numbered and one signed Huard in the negatives, with six coloured lithographs and three chromolithographs, ink manuscript captions on mounts, green morocco, gilt monogram J. G. W. on front cover, ruled in gilt, g.e., folio.

The album starts with a portrait of Watson in ceremonial Cossack dress and continues with views of St. Petersburg and its Imperial Palaces, Moscow, Kiev, Nijni Novogorod Town, Odessa, Sevastapol, Crimea, Balaclava, Novorossisk, Sukhum Kalch near Batsum, Tiflis, Caucasus, Erzersum, Bakú, Osun Ada, Askabad, Merv, Khiva, Bourkhara and Samarcand. Other costume portraits include a Russian lady in Circassian Dress, Circassian men and women, women from Mingrelia, Georgia, Tartar and Armenia, and the King of Daghestan. Some of the non-commercial views may be by Watson himself.
