A SWISS OVAL ENAMELLED GOLD AND JEWELLED SNUFF-BOX, overall enamelled with panels of deep purple guilloché divided by opaque white enamelled pelleted bands, within chased and enamelled berry and foliage borders, the centre of the cover applied with diamond initials 'AE' surmounted by an enamelled and gemset crown, with diamond sprays at intervals around the central panel, the interior cover engraved 'To Sir Michael Costa. July 25th 1872', maker's mark ES
