FIRST EDITION. Only a small number of copies were printed for distribution among the interested parties and Ministers of State. In his Advertisement the author writes 'The ... minutes of the trial ... were taken by myself and my clerks, being employed to give assistance before the court-martial, to William Musprat, one of the prisoners'. The appendix was written by Edward Christian to vindicate his brother Fletcher Christian the mutineer, and contains much information not found elsewhere on events before and after the mutiny. Ferguson 175 ('very few copies appear to exist'); Hill p.200; the British Library copy was destroyed during the war.
