Engraved general map, map on four sheets and two sheets of views and plans of ports, together 6 sheets (map sheets 590 x 530mm.). The map sheets hand-coloured in outline, the seas decorated with ships, sandbanks and wind directions, sheet of harbour and island plans comprising 19 insets, each hand-coloured in outline, the four uncoloured views of Mexico City, Niagara, New York and Quebec on one sheet.
This first reissue of the famous Popple map is reduced from the original, and was also issued by Delisle in the Atlas Nouveau of 1741. Phillips p.569-570.
