PARKES AND HADLEY. Patent Orrery. London: circa 1880.
A metal and brass demonstration orrery, diameter of horizontal plate 9½ inches (25cm.). The orrery comprising a metal horizontal moulded plate with calendar scale, and inscribed Parkes and Hadleys Patent Orrery, the centre with a polished brass sunball raised on a plinth and secured by a turn-screw, the geared tellurium motion with a 3 inch diameter terrestrial globe by George Philip & Son (globe lightly varnished but crackled and rubbed along equator.) The plate mounted on a cast metal stand, overall height 9 inches (23cm.).
