A pair of table globes, terrestrial and celestial, diameter 12 inches (31cm.), overall height 18 inches (46cm.). Each globe made up of two sets of 12 engraved gores, hand-coloured in outline, celestial gores laid to the ecliptic poles, with elaborate constellation figures, the terrestrial showing the tracks of Cook's third voyage, La Perouse and Vancouver to the Pacific, original varnish (discoloured, some light abrasions, several cracks on terrestrial near equator.) Metal pinions, brass hour circles and meridian circles, one face graduated the verso grooved, engraved horizon circles (varnish rubbed, discoloured). The globes mounted beechwood stands (one ebonised), with four baluster turned legs and cross-stretchers supporting brass centreposts. Van der Krogt Car 5; cf.Car 4. (2)
