Lot Essay

Sir Perceval the gallant young knight of the Court of King Arthur, when about to succumb to the realisation of his position by seeing the hilt of his own sword, which is in the form of a cross, lit up by the setting sun. This turns his thoughts to higher things, whereupon the temptress with a loud shriek vanishes with all her magical works. (see Malory's Morte Arthur)
