A VIENNA FIGURE OF A HUSSAR probably modelled by Anton Grassi, in a tall fur hat, fur-lined cape, red uniform with gilt frogging, blue and gilt sash, brown belt and high yellow boots, standing in a stiff pose with his right arm akimbo and his left hand holding his sword, a shield with the gilt initials PJ hung behind his sword, on a shaped white base before rockwork (restoration to sword and straps, tip of his left thumb lacking, chip to base), blue beehive mark, incised R at back, circa 1760
