A GERMAN ORMOLU-MOUNTED BURR ELM, BURR THUYA AND MAHOGANY DRESSING-TABLE of Empire style, the mirrored superstructure with rectangular plate in a lotus-leaf frame between baluster supports mounted with anthemia and centred with stars, with fruiting finials, with later satinwood crossbanded rectangular writing-surface, above two short frieze drawers inlaid with squares and on pillar supports headed by Ionic volute capitals and joined by plain rectangular side stretchers, early 19th Century, the top probably replaced in England, formerly with either a hinged top or one combining recesses, possibly reduced in width
