A PERSIAN GOLD-DAMASCENED STEEL KULAH KHUD, the skull decorated with foliate lines forming panels containing cartouches and fitted with two plume-holders (one incomplete), detachable fluted central spike, the rounded base divided by a design of foliage, adjustable nasal damascened en suite with the plume-holders (retaining screw missing), long shaped avantail of small butted iron and brass rings, the base of the skull with panels containing Persian verses, retaining its original red velvet lining (worn) and rare tooled red leather carrying case, the top (slightly damaged) made in four parts each embroidered with a stylised cypress and foliage, early 19th Century
