Berger, Detroit' (tang incomplete), foliate engraved lock stamped 'A.W. Spies Warranted', walnut half-stock (cracked at the lock), butt raised on each side and inset with white-metal escutcheon and shaped panel on each side, brass mounts including butt-plate, pierced side-plate and spurred trigger-guard, pewter fore-end cap, and iron ramrod, circa 1830
