midare hamon of nie, midare komi boshi with kaen, horimono of Fudo and bonji on the omote, futasuji-bi and bonji on the ura, ubu nakago machi okuri 3cm., unsigned, Osaka style, 17th century, 53.9cm., in a kinpun scattered roironuri saya decorated with bamboo and flowering plum branches in gold and iroe hiramakie, the fuchi, koiguchi, kurikata, kozuka and kojiri of silver deeply chiselled with bamboo, unsigned, the kashira and menuki associated as is the oval silver tsuba carved with a tiger, signed Iwamoto Kansai (died 1927)
