The ouzel is one of the most distinctive birds from Spackman's 1764 set which probably comprised twelve birds of much the same type as Dixon's 1750 set (see: Longfield, 1975, fig.5 and 1980, fig.20)
Another ouzel was sold anonymously. in these Rooms, 22 November 1979, lot 6
