The case of typical construction with dolphin and foliate pierced and engraved gallery frets with urn finials supporting the bell straps, typical brass side doors, the dial signed Richard Brown Fecit, within the foliate engraved centre with Roman chapter ring and pierced steel hand, the movement with verge escapement and back-swinging bob pendulum, count wheel strike on bell above.

Lot Essay

Richard Brown, Bc. 1654 and apprenticed to Lawrence Sindry in 1668 and later to Edward Norris and Free in 1675.
