GOSPEL LECTIONARY. Single leaf from a LARGE ILLUMINATED MANUSCRIPT LECTIONARY ON VELLUM

385 x 252 mm. from the same manuscript as above. Two large illuminated initials 'I', both historiated with strange aviform creatures in green and blue on pink ground, with full-page bar ascenders of burnished gold terminating in gold and coloured leaves at head and dense blue, pink and gold foliage covering the lower margin. Readings for iiii and vi secundum Matheum (on verso). On recto one large similar initial 'I' with blue ferret, and page decoration similar to the verso. Reading 'dominica in ix secundum lucham'.
