GOSPEL LECTIONARY. Single leaf from a LARGE ILLUMINATED MANUSCRIPT LECTIONARY ON VELLUM

385 x 255 mm. From the same manuscript as above. Two large illuminated initials 'I', one in blue and gold, the other in pale blue, pink and gold, both with full-page bar ascenders in burnished gold and blue terminating at head and foot with spiky coloured and gold foliage along the entire width of the page. Text 'fferia ii. lucham' and 'fferia iii matheum' (on verso). On recto large illuminated initial 'I' inhabited by two strange animals, on blue and gold ground, with full-length bar ascender terminating in coloured and gold foliage. Text 'Dominica iii. secundum lucham'.
