Schwäbisch Gmund: 1611.
Oblong 2° (285 x 350 mm). Etched title (a little torn, laid down and detached), one leaf of letterpress dedication and 218 etched plates on 224 sheets, and etched colophon with printer's device at end (the plates are numbered in 27 series; plates 10 and 12 in sixth series and no. 1 in 26th series are apparently lacking, but probably not required; tear in first plate 12, slight stain on 18th plate 8. Contemporary blind-stamped pigskin over pasteboard (a little worn, ties lacking). Provenance: F. Princ. a Lobkowitz (18th-century bookplate).
Vinet 738 (calling for 253 plates): "Volume rare, omis par Brunet. On le trouve généralement incomplet ... Il doit se composer de trente séries de cavalcades ... Des chevaux, des chars montés par des personnages allégoriques: La Foi, La Liberté, la Justice, la Sagesse, voilà tout ce que montre cette série nombreuse: mais une si grande monotonie est rachetée soit par l'excellence, soit même par l'inégalité de l'exécution". A text-volume describing the wedding festivities by Johann Oettinger was published in 1610, on which Vinet's plate count is based. Lipperheide Sbd3 states 224 plates. According to Nagler the final plates are by Fredric Brentel of Strassburg.
