A PARIS (RUE THIROUX) TAPERING URN-SHAPED VASE AND COVER painted alternately with orange and gold-ground lozenges with roses, trophies and birds en grisaille between pink roses, suspended on blue ribbons from gilt loops and sepia paterae hung with purple swags, between gilt foliage swags and above sepia paterae suspending green foliage swags, the shoulders striped with diagonal sepia foliage between gilt bands, the stem and cover with green stiff leaves and a pink band reserved with foliage scrolls on a circular foot and simulated green marble square base (restoration to neck of finial, rim of cover and hairline crack to cover), gilt crowned A mark, circa 1790
