A PAIR OF MEISSEN PARTRIDGES modelled by J.J. Kändler to left and right and with finely detailed plumage painted in shades of brown and black, their feet striped in black and iron-red, one standing before ears of corn the other before reeds on mound bases (restoration to left hand bird's beak and ears of corn and restored cracks to left wing and back, very slight chip to right hand bird's beak and restoration to tips of reeds and right wing), blue crossed swords marks at back, circa 1740
