Lot Essay

The arms are those of the City of Worcester and perhaps pertain to a resident of that city who was a member of either the Friendly Society, the Jacobite Club or the more famous Cycle Club for the County of Worcestershire. The Henry Brown sale catalogue mentions a note made by Francis Buckley taken from Adam's Weekly Courant of 17 May 1774 - '"Mr. Price" addresses a notice of his Cycle meeting from Worcester'
