4° (211 x 138mm). Large woodcut on title-page of St. Francis with the printer's small device at both bottom corners, his larger device at end, 19 large woodcuts in the text, including repeats. (Lacks c1,2,7 & 8, duplicates of e1,2,7 & 8 substituted in their place.) Early 19th-century quarter russia, gilt spine.

One of perhaps only two copies known of this charmingly illustrated edition of Ovid's Heroides in Italian by the itinerant Milanese printer, Francesco Silva who also worked at Savona and Asti. Cinquecintine Piemontesi I, 397; Kristeller 269b; Sander 5296 (copy not seen).
