[POPE, Alexander, (1688 - 1744)]. Manuscript (transcripts) of approximately 30 letters by Pope to various correspondents, including Swift, John Hughes, Sheridan, Dr Thomas Parnell, Racine and others, 8 December 1713 - 1 September 1742, apparently copied for publication, many of the letters annotated with footnotes, also including excerpts of his works, a few notes and memoranda, transcripts of letters addressed to Pope, copied in an early 19th century hand, approximately 95 pages, 4to, and approximately 50 printed letters to Aaron Hill and Samuel Richardson, all written or pasted on leaves measuring 290 x 190 mm, in an album. [WALPOLE, Horace (1717 - 1797)]. Manuscript, 'A Narrative of what passed relative to the Quarrel of Dr David Hume and Jean Jacques Rousseau, as far as Mr. Horace Walpole was concerned in it, 1812', including transcripts made for publication of correspondence between Walpole and Hume, with footnotes for publication; and Walpole's 'Reminiscences written 1788' for Mary and Agnes Berry, 'Hieroglyphic tales', and several parodies of letters by Chesterfield and others, approximately 136 pages, 350 x 220 mm.
