engraving, 1504, a superb Meder II impression, rich, black, and displaying remarkable clarity of detail, watermark Bull's Head (M. 62), trimmed just inside the platemark, retaining a fillet of blank paper outside the borderline, traces of a central vertical fold and a few central horizontal folds showing almost entirely on the reverse, one of the latter with the faintest staining recto towards the right, a tiny repair at the very tip of the lower left corner, otherwise in remarkably good condition

Comparable to the excellent impression in the British Museum and perhaps slightly more effective in capturing the subtle nuances of shading that define the protagonist's anatomy. The thick inking in the British Museum's impression tends to obscure many of the fine lines of the densely shaded background which in this example can be read with greater clarity.
