A ROMAN SILVER GILT CROSSBOW FIBULA, the wing with central 'onion'-shaped knob and terminals, the curved bow with notched decoration and the foot incised with a goodwish inscription "LICINIE VIVAS", flanked above and below by pairs of scrolls, pin deficient, 3rd-4th Century A.D., 4 5/8in. (9.4cm.) long; and a large Italic bronze fibula, the bow of flaring cruciform shape wich circular punched decoration, with large coils attached to the pin and catchplate which terminates in a spool-shaped knob, 5th-4th Century B.C., 5½in.
