A similar view of the Isola Sant'Elena, in gouache and with different boats, was sold in these Rooms, 13 December 1984, lot 81. The Isola Sant'Elena is shown in an engraving by Antonio Visentini (G. Lorenzetti, Venice and its Lagoon, Trieste, ed. 1975, p.995) and in a drawing by Francesco Tironi exhibited by Colnaghi, Pictures from the Grand Tour, 14 Nov.-16 Dec. 1978, no.72, illustrated, and sold in these Rooms, 9 December 1980, lot 116.
