Lot Essay

The guns were completed circa 1910 and are most unusual for their protruding tumbler-pivots, a feature most commonly found on Woodward guns. New barrels were fitted by the makers in 1948 (No. 3), 1956 (No. 1) and 1960 (No. 2). Purdey records further confirm the addition of new 26in. skeet barrels for the No. 2 gun in 1960

The gun in the following lot, No. 28029, was built to match this set and is, therefore, numbered '4'.
