A PAIR OF SÈVRES-PATTERN PINK-GROUND VASES AND COVERS of broad tapering cylindrical form, the sides moulded in relief with medallions wreathed with ribbon-tied laurel and linked to the rim by cords attached to rings, the slightly domed covers with pinecone finials, painted with portrait medallions of Louis XVI and ladies of the Court divided by white-ground cartouches of butterflies on flowers, on beaded and fluted flared stems moulded with laurel-wreaths and on shaped square plinths (wear to gilding, one finial restored, medallions formerly with 'jewelled' outlines now lacking, one foot with restored chip, the other chipped), imitation blue interlaced L marks, late 19th Century
