This serpentined table top, with embossed and scalloped apron, is supported on fretted-trestle ends of entwined acanthus-scrolls emerging from confronted mer-sphynx and supporting a central antique head. The acanthus-scrolled feet are united by a stretcher. Its combination of French 18th century styles is typical of drawing-room furniture of the mid-19th Century.
