Etched title, 1p. letterpress dedication with etched headpiece, 4pp. letterpress explanation of the plates with etched head- and tailpiece and 37 etched plates by Bradt after Johannes Wiedewelt (2 double-page, 3 leaves with 2 plates per leaf). Contemporary tree sheep gilt (a little scuffed, corners repaired).

A FINE COPY of the Danish architect and engraver's record of Frederick V's garden sculpture at Fredensborg in Denmark. Bradt's etchings took 4 years to complete, they reproduce in striking style the work of Johannes Wiedewelt, the greatest Danish sculptor of the 18th century. The dedication to Frederick V's successor Christian VII is in French and dated 22 July 1769. There is an undated issue with the dedication and table of contents in Danish.
