A selection edited by G. J.'sGravesande from the work of one of the greatest mathematicians of his time, and inventor of the pendulum clock. The Opera Varia comprise Opera Mechanica; ...Geometrica; ...Asronomica; ...Miscellanea. Both of the other works are in two parts. The publication of the comprehensive edition of his works in 22 volumes was not completed until 1950. (2)
