FIRST EDITION of Rocchetta's account of his pilgrimage to the Holy Land from 1598 to 1599. Rocchetta journeyed to Israel via Crete, Cyprus, Aleppo, Aman and Damascus, and returned to Italy via Cairo, Alexandria, Tripoli, Malta and Venice. This copy has the author's declaration bound in before the main body of the text, rather than after it, as in the Blackmer copy. The illustrations are taken from Jean Zuallart's Le Tresdevot Voyage de Ierusalem, published in Antwerp in 1608. Blackmer 1439; cf. Brunet IV.1341 (2nd edition).
