Bound with: a collection of engraved plates from other works by the Rossi family, comprising 138 plates (including titles) from Insigniores Statuarum Urbis Romae Icones by Giovanni Domenico Rossi, 1645 (cf. Brunet IV. 1406); title and 13 plates from Ornamenti degl' Obelischi et Colonne... di Roma by Bartolommeo and Giovanni Iacomo Rossi, 1650 (Berlin Kat. 3620); and 8 engraved plates of gardens including 7 double-page and 1 folding, by F. Corduba, M. Greuter and others for Giovanni Domenico Rossi. (Small clean tear to 'Villa Borghesia' plate, very occasional slight soiling.) 18th-century Italian speckled calf, spine gilt.
An interesting selection of plates published by the prolific Rossi family, almost all in fine condition. This second, expanded, edition of the Fontane Diverse uses many of the plates from the 1618 edition. Sold as a collection of plates, not subject to return.
