STRIP OF THREE 'BOUND' LEAVES AND TWO BUDS OR BERRIES, opaque yellow and red canes in dark amber brown matrix, flanked by a floral band of alternating opaque red and translucent blue cruciform flowers in white matrix - 2.7 x 1.4cm., 0.4cm. thick; and another similar three yellow leaves with blue stalked red berries, bound in a white basket(?), in semi-translucent turquoise matrix - 3.1 x 1.4cm., 0.35cm. thick, circa 1st Century B.C./A.D. These plants possibly represent olive leaves and fruit, cf. gold wreath of olive from a grave at Derveni in Thessalonike Archaeological Museum; however, there are similarities with myrtle leaves and buds. Müller has identified it as a lotus flower in Ägyptische Kunstwerke, 1964, A232, col. pl. opp. p. 80 (blütenmuster)
