The leopard monopodia with crown-ringed feet are related to those on a suite of seat-furniture supplied in 1805 by Gillows of Lancaster to Colonel Hughes of Kinmel Park, Denbighshire. The suite contained two daybeds of which one is now in the Victoria and Albert Museum (W.38-1930). Its pair was sold from the collection of the late H.T.S. Upcher Esq., Sheringham Hall, Norfolk, Christie's house sale, 22-23 October 1986, lot 151. A taller pier table with these supports was sold anonymously, Christie's London, 8 July 1993, lot 61
