etching, 1887, on laid paper with a crowned Coat of Arms watermark, first state (of two), a fine impression, signed in pencil, inscribed 'No 23', from the edition of 100 published in L'Estampe Originale (there were about twelve further lifetime proofs in the two states and 50 posthumous impressions), with margins, traces of surface dirt in the margins and on the reverse, otherwise in very good condition
