cover 1863 (21 July) cover from Cape Town, endorsed "Paid", addressed to Essex, bearing 1/- deep dark green, good margins all round except at upper right where close, tied by black triangular cancellation; backstamped Cape Town (indistinct) and Chelmsford, showing Devonport Cape Packet and transit c.d.s. on the front with manuscript "11" in red; trace of ironed filing crease at right just affecting the triangular, small tear at foot of cover on reverse; scarce.
