c.1948 RILEY RM ROLLING CHASSIS AND SPARES

Engine No. 12862 (see text)

The RM series of Nuffield Rileys were introduced in 1946 comprising the 1½ and 2½-litre saloons. It was quite an achievement that such stylish cars were produced so soon after the war and they made a great impact.

As can be seen from the photograph, the restoration has alrady begun on the bodywork. There is a very large quantity of spare parts being offered with this lot including: 4 spare doors; 2 new front wings and second hand rear wings; engine (+2 blocks); 2 gearboxes; 3 inlet manifolds; 8 rocker covers; numerous engine spares and ancillaries; a few instruments; brake shoes; rear lights; 2 radiators; a grill; and 2 rear seats in a poor condition. All these parts will be sold as viewed in a small trailer and this lot is surely a must for any RM Riley enthusiast or restorer. (There is no paperwork with this lot and we are unsure if the engine belongs to this vehicle).
