1929 FORD MODEL A TOURER
Registration No. DS 8541
Chassis No. A792136
Engine No A792136
Two tone blue with black wings and black interior
Right hand drive
Compared to the Model T, the Model A had a much shorter production life of about five years, however they managed to sell four and a half million examples. With its rugged 3.3-litre side-valve engine producing 40bhp at 2,200rpm and three speed sliding type gearbox it was capable of tackling any road conditions due to its immense low down torque. It was virtually an unbreakable car with an amazing record of longevity, a fact explained by the use of high grade steel.
This tourer has clearly been restored some years ago and its condition may best be described as fair. The paintwork is slightly blistering and the door handles are in poor condition. It is in fully running order and the last MoT expired in August. The owner hopes to have a new MoT by the time of the sale. It has a full set of side screens and is a typical example of this popular marque.
