Tongnoo
cover 1854 (Oct.) XU5 "Via Calcutta and Southampton" to Kingsbridge, England, bearing 1a. Die I -- nine examples (all cut small, several with minor faults) cancelled by diamond of dots, with boxed "INDIA/PAID" h.s. adjacent and showing, on reverse, a mainly good strike of the "TONGNOO/POST OFFICE" double-ring d.s. in red. A rare and spectacular franking and undoubtedly one of the earliest usages of adhesives from this office. Ex. Dahlmann. Photo
