Lot Essay

The above lot came from the C.W.Meredith sale (lot 29), sold by Robson Lowe on 16th March 1960. In the catalogue illustration a small testimonial overlaid on the plate states that this piece was damaged during the "Blitz" in the last war, being under water for several weeks. We have been unable to locate this testimonial, and the piece is therefore offered on its merits.
