The selection attractively arranged in black stockbook, plated by vendor and stated to comprise Plates 1a (4), 1b (8), II (9 singles and a pair), III (12, one being apparently unused), IV (11, one being unused with gum), V (8 singles, one being unused with gum), VI (11), VII (6 singles, a pair and strip of four), VIII (6 singles, one matched in red, and a pair), IX (4), X (4), virtually all with four margins, many of the used neatly cancelled and most attractive though the condition is a little mixed in places. Accompanying the lot is a beautiful copy of "The Plating of the Penny Black" by Nissen and McGowan, bound in full brown crushed calf with gilt titles on spine and front cover, 4to., complete with plates, contained in slip-in case
