A GERMAN GILTWOOD MIRROR with shaped arched rectangular divided- plate, the top section engraved with an equestrian portrait of a soldier within a waved foliate border, above a later plate similarly engraved with trailing foliage, the elaborately carved frame with C-scrolls, rockwork and acanthus sprays surmounted by a stylised dragon flanked by wheatsheaves and pomegranates, the shaped apron with central rockwork and foliate cartouche, previously with candlebranches to the sides, restorations, 19th Century
