manuscript on buff paper, 290ff. plus three flyleaves, each with 13ll. of large black naskh, punctuation in red, gold and coloured rosettes between verses, gold margin between black rules, blue outer rule, the juz' marked marginally in gold, other textual divisions and sijda similarly marked in red, sura headings in blue thuluth on plain cartouches within gold and polychrome floral illuminated panels, (minor staining, some repairs), opening bifolio illuminated in gold and polychrome with floral designs (slight rubbing and creasing), final folio with oval gold illuminated colophon signed by Ahmad al-Alhafi. a pupil of Sayyid 'Ali al-Hamdi who was a pupil of the famous 'Uthman and dated 1270, original dark green morocco binding with gold painted central lattice and borders (repaired, some scuffing)
