the complete poetic and prose works of Sa'di, Persian manuscript on ivory paper, 262ff. plus two flyleaves, each with a central panel of 10ll. of fine black nasta'liq within gold margins and black rules, surrounded by two bands of diagonal black nasta'liq, separated by a similar margin, gold, orange and green outer margins within black rules, blue outer rule, occasional words in red, occasional intercolumnar and interlinear divisions, headings in white outlined in black on illuminated cartouches on blue and white panel, triangular and rhomboidal floral illuminated panels around, (slight smudging, repairs to outer and inner edge), opening bifolio with gold and polychrome floral illuminated clouds between the lines of text, blue margins within orange rules, and with illuminated panel above start of text, thirteen other folios similarly illuminated throughout the text, six folios with contemporary miniatures in gold and polychrome in place of the floral panels, maroon morocco binding with gold and black stamped medallion, pendants and cartouche border (slight damage to spine, tear to one board)
