the famous books of wisdom, one in prose the other in verse, Persian manuscript on paper, 240ff. plus one flyleaf, each with 15ll. of fine black nasta'liq, gold margin between black rules, blue outer margin, intercolumnal and interlinear divisions in gold between black rules, gold dots between phrases, occasional words in gold, headings in gold in panels decorated with small blue floral devices, (some water staining, occasional repairs), gold and polychrome illuminated headings with titles in white ornamental kufic on ff.1v. and 97v. (damages), the first book signed by Lutfallah bin Hasan Ma'ad al-Husaini and dated 23rd Ramadan 927, the final page similarly signed and dated 27th Rabi I, 928/24th February 1522 AD, dark brown morocco binding with stamped and gold painted central arabesque medallion, pendants and spandrels (repaired), plain morocco doublures
