the complete poetic works of Khawaja Shams al-Din Hafiz of Shiraz, Persian manuscript on cream gold-sprinkled paper, 221ff. plus four flyleaves, each wtih 14ll. of flowing black nasta'liq in two columns, gold intercolumnar and interlinear divisions between black rules, gold, green and blue margins between black rules, mounted in Afghanistan with marbled paper, (occasional splitting along margins, opening folios missing), opening folio with gold clouds between the lines of text and gold and polychrome scrolling vine in the margin (slight damage to corners), ff.5v./6r. and 15v./16r. similar with illuminated heading, final folio with colophon dated 898, red lacquer binding with black medallion and pendants, maroon morocco and gold decoupé doublures (one board replaced)
