A FINE QAJAR TILE PANEL of arched form with central rectangular aperture, comprising three columns of tiles each with blue ground scattered with a variety of floral sprays around human figures, some identified in small cartouches below, in a narrow apple-green border of meandering arabesques, signature panel above the aperture, 'the work of 'Abd al-Jawad', the aperture fitted with hinged door inset with similar but unrelated tiles, mounted in Syrian wooden frame, together with TWO FURTHER TILES from the same original composition, and A TILE INSET SIDEBOARD, the centre arched tile also from the same original composition, other tiles from Qajar Iran, particularly border tiles, and also later imitations of Iznik tiles, made up in Syria with parquetry columns and an inlaid ground, the parts mostly Teheran circa 1870 (most tiles with simple repaired breaks)
