A KASHAN COBALT GLAZED AND LUSTRE PAINTED DISH with shallow rounded body, everted flat rim and short foot, the interior painted over the clear glaze in lustre with a central roundel depicting a horseman within a band of lobed motifs, the broad cavetto with similar roundels divided by lobed plant motifs, the rim with a band of scrolling vine around a kufic repeated inscription, the cobalt-blue exterior plain, early 13th century (repaired, very small areas of restoration)
